How to Play Texas Hold'em Poker
Play the Texas Hold'em Poker is what I was told when I started playing the game. It is easy and the best way to begin your poker stint. I advise every player to learn this style and play it repeatedly until he becomes a pro. Probability is what drives Texas Hold'em Poker, and it sure helps me to keep a watch on the cards and the bets.
Before the dealer shuffles the cards, the players to the left side of the dealer place their blinds. A blind, for the uninitiated, is an initial wager. The dealer then deals the two pocket cards, facedown, before you place bets in the pre-flop round. The betting can be either one of these four types: Structured limit, Spread limit, Pot limit, and No limit.
With initial bets over, it is a good time to check your cards and fold or raise, whichever you think might is better. Just to make sure there is no cheating, the top deck card should be discarded at this point. This discarding must be done after each round of betting is over. Next, the dealer doles out the next three cards for each player. This time they are face-up. These cards are known as the flop. Any player can use these cards to make the poker hand.
If you thought you had finished placing you bet the last time, think again. Another round of betting starts with the player sitting to the left of the dealer placing his bet first. You can now flip a turn card from the deck. More bets are placed, and my experience says the wagers will virtually double. The river card is then dealt, to make the final five-card poker hand. A few last bets are placed and then each player reveals their hand. The best hand wins the round. Does not it sound easy?
